About
FISO
FFounded in 2025, the Fédération Internationale des Sports Orbitaux (FISO) serves as the international governing body for orbital sport. The organization was established in response to the rapid expansion of the commercial space economy and the clear need for consistent, credible standards to guide competition beyond Earth.
FISO provides the institutional foundation required for orbital sport to develop safely, fairly, and sustainably. Through governance principles, technical standards, safety protocols, and competition regulations, FISO works to ensure sporting integrity while enabling innovation and broad international participation.
Today, FISO is actively building the framework that will define the future of competition in space — formalizing rules of play, certifying vehicles and systems, accrediting events and operators, and aligning with global stakeholders across aerospace, sport, and regulatory communities. By creating clear pathways for compliance and collaboration, FISO reduces uncertainty and establishes the trust necessary for teams, partners, and spectators alike.
As orbital sport advances from early demonstration to organized competition, FISO’s role is both steward and standard-setter: balancing performance with responsibility, safety with progress, and ambition with accountability. Our mandate is simple — to ensure that competition beyond Earth matures as a recognized, enduring international discipline built on integrity, transparency, and excellence.
